Kabilang ang Boracay sa mga lugar sa mundo na tinawag na “World’s Greatest Places of 2022” ng TIME Magazine.

Sa website nito, inilarawan ng TIME ang Boracay na sikat sa white-sand beach bilang “paradise reborn,” at kasama sa “50 extraordinary destinations to explore.”

Para mabuo ang listahan, sinabi ng TIME na humingi sila ng mga pangalan ng lugar mula sa mga correspondent at contributor ng kanilang international network na, “with an eye toward those offering new and exciting experiences.”

Ikinatuwa naman ng Department of Tourism (DOT), ang pagkakasama ng Boracay sa naturang listahan, at patunay umanong na isang "tourist haven” ang lugar.

“Such recognition will surely help us attain our goal of regaining our position in the global market," sabi ni DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco sa isang pahayag.

"Surely, the Philippines has a multitude of sites and tourism activities that we could offer to the world. And, in addition to natural resources, we look forward as well to developing and promoting the talents of our people and the products that have the potential for national and global marketability," dagdag ng kalihim.
