Nagretiro na matapos ng 35 taong serbisyo si Health Undersecretary Enrique Tayag, ayon sa Department of Health (DOH).
Sa flag ceremony nitong Lunes ng umaga, sinabi ng DOH na sa pangunguna ni Health Secretary Ted Herbosa, pinasalamatan ng executive committee at mga staff, si Tayag para sa kaniyang “exemplary service for the health of the nation.”
Ayon kay Herbosa, nasaksihan niya kung papaano nagsilbi sa bayan si Tayag, naging spokesperson ng DOH, mula sa pagiging batang duktor hanggang sa maging opisyal sa gobyerno.
“On behalf of the entire Department and the health sector, I thank Usec. Eric Tayag for his time and talent all these decades in the service of the Philippine health sector. I am witness to his well-deserved progression from a young infectious disease doctor and epidemiologist, to health Undersecretary, Chief Information Officer, and DOH spokesperson,” ayon sa pahayag ng kalihim.
Naniniwala si Herbosa na ipagpapatuloy ni Tayag sa paglilingkod nito kahit retirado na.
Simula sa April 15, papalit si Assistant Secretary Albert Domingo bilang officer-in-charge sa iiwang posisyon ni Tayag na tagapagsalita ng DOH.
Samantala, hahalili naman si Assistant Secretary Ariel Valencia, sa isa pang puwesto ni Tayag bilang pinuno ng DOH Public Health Services Cluster (PHSC) na namamahala sa epidemiology, disease prevention and control, and health promotion.
Samantala, si Health Undersecretary Emmie Liza Perez-Chiong, naman ang uupo bilang bagong Chief Information Officer (CIO) na mamamahala sa digital health and health information systems.
Nakilala noon si Tayag sa kaniyang pagsasayaw bilang bahagi ng pagpapakalat ng impormasyon ng kahalagahan ng ehersisyo sa kalusugan.— FRJ, GMA Integrated News
