Nagpiyansa ng P10,000 ang dating TV host na si Jay Sonza para sa kaniyang pansamantalang paglaya, ayon sa kaniyang abogado na si Atty. Mark Tolentino nitong Lunes.
Sa Facebook post, sinabi ni Tolentino na naglabas ng release order ang Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 118 para kay Sonza.
“We welcome this development and are taking the necessary steps to secure his immediate release,” dagdag niya.
Nakadetine si Sonza sa pasilidad ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa Muntinlupa City, makaraan siyang arestuhin nitong Biyernes sa bisa ng arrest warrant kaugnay ng kasong “unlawful use of means of publication and unlawful utterances under Article 154 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC), in relation to Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012."
Ang kaso ay kaugnay ng pagpapakalat umano ni Sonza ng mga pekeng impormasyon sa social media tungkol sa kalusugan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Sinabi rin ni Tolentino na hindi natuloy ang pagbasa ng sakdal kay Sonza ngayong araw dahil sa inihain nilang mosyon sa korte na ibasura ang kaso.
Una rito, kinuwestiyon ng kampo ni Sonza ang unang nakasaad sa warrant of arrest na “not bailable” ang kinakaharap ng kaso ng dating TV host.
Ayon kay Tolentino, humingi umano ang hukom ng paumanhin sa pagkakamali sa naturang inilabas na warrant.
“The Honorable Court clarified that the offense is bailable as a matter of right, and that it had allegedly been waiting for the accused to post bail over the weekend,” saad niya.
“In good faith, and in the interest of moving forward, Manong Jay Sonza and undersigned counsel humbly accept the apology of the Honorable Court— despite the fact that he was unjustly deprived of his liberty for five days,” ayon pa kay Tolentino.
May kinakaharap pang cyberlibel case si Sonza sa Pasay RTC Branch 111. Ayon kay Tolentino, hinihintay nila kung maglalabas din ito ng warrant of arrest laban sa kaniyang kliyente.— Joahna Lei Casilao/FRJ GMA News
