Pumanaw na ang Filipina caregiver sa Rehovot, Israel na nasugatan sa ginawang missile strike ng Iran sa Israel noong June. Inihayag ng Philippine Embassy sa Israel ang malungkot na balita nitong Linggo.

Sa Facebook post ng embahada, inihayag na sumailalim sa ilang operasyon si Leah Mosquera, 49-anyos, tubong Negros Occidental, dahil sa tinamo niyang mga sugat sa nangyaring missile attack ng Iran.

Matapos ang mga operasyon, sinabi ng embahada na “she fought for her life" sa intensive care unit ng ilang linggo bago siya binawian ng buhay.

Kinumpirma ni Joy, na nagtatrabaho rin sa Israel ang pagpanaw ng kaniyang kapatid.

Inihayag ng embahada na inaasikaso ang pagpapauwi sa mga labi ng OFW.

"Lovingly called Ate Leah by her friends, she would have celebrated her 50th birthday this 29 July," dagdag nito.

Nagdadalamhati rin ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) sa pagpanaw ni Mosquera.

"The Department of Migrant Workers deeply mourns the passing of OFW caregiver Leah Mosquera, a victim of an Iranian missile attack on the City of Rehovot, Israel last 15 June 2025," saad ng DMW sa kanilang pahayag.

"We extend our deepest sympathy to Ms. Mosquera’s family. Truly, OFW Leah’s dedication and quiet heroism embody the strength and sacrifices of our overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who carry the hopes and dreams of their families, their communities, and our nation," dagdag ng DMW.

Ayon sa DMW, sasagutin sa pamamagitan ng Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) sa pakikipagtulungan ng Philippine Embassy sa Israel, ang mga gastusin sa repatriation ni Mosquera upang maiuwi siya sa Pilipinas, pati na ang gastusin sa libing.

Sa hiwalay na pahayag, nagpaabot din ng pakikiramay sa pamilya ni Mosquera ang Israel Embassy sa Manila.

“Israel shares in the profound sorrow of her family and the Filipino community. We mourn with you and honor Leah’s memory with dignity and compassion. May her soul rest in peace,” saad nito

“As such, her immediate family will receive lifelong support from the Israeli government as part of Israel’s unwavering commitment to stand beside them during this difficult time,” ayon pa sa embahada. —FRJ, GMA Integrated News
