Isang Korean national ang inaresto sa Davao City dahil sa umano’y ilegal na pangangalap ng mga Pilipino para magtrabaho sa South Korea.
Sa ulat ng GMA Regional TV News nitong Biyernes, sinabing inaresto ng mga tauhan ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group at Department of Migrant Workers ang suspek na kinilalang si alias “Hyun,” 54-anyos, sa isinagawang entrapment operation sa Matina Enclaves, Quimpo Boulevard, Mc Arthur Highway noong Mayo 4, 2026.
Ayon sa CIDG, nahuli umano ang suspek habang tumatanggap ng placement fee mula sa isang biktima para sa trabaho sa Seoul, South Korea. Wala umanong lisensya mula sa DMW upang mag-recruit ng overseas migrant workers.
Ang mga nire-recruit umano ng suspek, pinapangukuan ng trabaho bilang mga factory worker sa South Korea.
Sa halagang P28,000 na processing fee, ginagarantiyahan umano ang mga manggagawa ng buwanang sahod na KRW 2,200,000 o humigit-kumulang P92,000, kasama ang libreng tirahan at pagkain.
Ibinunyag ng CIDG na aabot sa 40 katao, na 19 rito ay mula sa Davao City, ang nabiktima umano ng suspek.
“The primary purpose of Republic Act No. 8042, as amended by Republic Act No. 10022, is to institute higher standards of protection and promotion for the welfare of all workers, migrant workers, their families, and overseas Filipinos in distress,” ayon sa CIDG.
“The arrest of the suspect sends a clear message that the government affords full protection to labor both local and overseas to safeguard all Filipino from illegal recruitment and all forms of exploitation,” dagdag nito.—FRJ GMA News
