Inihayag ng presidente ng Lakas-Christian Muslims Democrats (Lakas-CMD) na si House Majority Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, na susuportahan nila si Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte sakaling magpasya ang alkalde na tumakbong pangulo sa 2022 elections.
Ang pahayag ay ginawa ni Romualdez matapos na makipag-alyansa muli ang kaniyang partido sa regional party na Hugpong ng Pagbabago ni Duterte.
“If Mayor Sara Duterte decides to seek higher office for 2022, we are ready to work for her victory in the coming election,” anang kongresista.
Sa kasunduan, susuportahan umano ng dalawang partido ang kanilang magiging kandidato sa panguluhang halalan sa 2022.
“I call on other political parties to join us and be part of our mission to form a broad multi-party coalition anchored on shared principles. We need coalition partners that share the same vision of building a strong Republic through sustainable growth and development of the regions,” saad ni Romualdez nitong Miyerkules.
Ayon kay Romualdez, subok na ang lakas ng impluwensiya ng HNP sa halalan.
“Nakita po natin sa 2019 elections, maraming nahalal na HNP-endorsed na senatorial candidates. We are very mindful, we have deep respect for the influence and ability of the HNP to deliver support,” paliwanag niya.
Sa ngayon, wala pa umanong partikular na mga kandidato ang Lakas-CMD para sa darating na eleksyon.
Hindi pa rin umano siya nakapagdedesisyon kung tatakbo siyang bise presidente matapos siyang iendorso ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
“Pinag-iisipan natin nang husto, we are very much in deep consideration of this opportunity to vie for the second highest position in the land, it would be done with consultations… from where I hail, the province of Leyte, of course with our party members, I will rely heavily on that,” aniya.
Kamakailan lang, sinabi ni Pangulong Duterte na nangako siya noon kay Romualdez na susuportahan niya ito kapag tumakbong bise presidente.
Aminado si Romualdez na kasama ang naturang pahayag ng Punong Ehekutibo sa magiging desisyon niya sa Eleksyon 2022.— FRJ, GMA News
