“Now, because of that, we are ready to return the warrant and the inventory sheet to the issuing court for the court to be notified that there was an affirmative result of the operation. And from there, we would have to wait for the disposition of the court,” sabi ni Mallari.
Idineklara ng Sandiganbayan si Co bilang isang "fugitive from justice" at iniutos ang pagkansela ng kaniyang pasaporte dahil sa mga kasong malversation at graft kaugnay ng P289 milyong substandard na proyekto sa dike sa Oriental Mindoro.
Hiniling ng NBI sa International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) na mag-isyu ng red notice laban sa kaniya. Sinabi ni Mallari na may mga lead ang NBI sa kaniyang huling lokasyon ngunit tumanggi itong magbigay ng karagdagang detalye upang hindi makompromiso ang kanilang paggalaw.
