Dumagsa sa social media ang mga nakikiramay at nakikidalamhati sa pagpanaw ng respetadong theater, film at television director at actor na si Socrates "Soxie" Topacio, matapos siyang pumanaw dulot ng karamdaman nitong Biyernes ng gabi.
Ang pamangkin na si Zarah Topacio ang nagkumpirma kay GMA News reporter Aubrey Carampel sa pagpanaw ni direk Soxie dulot ng sakit na cancer sa edad na 65.
"Have a safe trip home to the arms of Our Father. Applause for a life so well-lived, Soxy Topacio. You will be missed as you are loved," saad sa Twitter post ni Direk Joey Javier Reyes.
Saad sa Facebook post ng kinabibilangan niyang Philippine Educational Theater Association o PETA:
"It is with great sorrow that PETA announces the passing of one of its most senior members Socrates “Soxie” Topacio. One of PETA's finest artist-teachers whose creativity and artistic skill encompass the broad range of the performing arts.
"He was a generous mentor and was an inspiration to many young artists. Soxie was well-loved by all in the company given his generosity with his time, leadership and artistic talent. He will be deeply missed by his PETA family," ayon sa post.
Naging makulay at mabunga ang showbiz career ni direk Soxie na bukod sa teatro ay nakagawa rin ng maraming pelikula at TV shows, tulad ng "Dear Uge" sa GMA-7.
Noong nakaraang taon, naging bisita sa "kalyeserye" ng "Eat Bulaga" si direk Soxie kung saan gumanap siya bilang kaibigan ni Lola Nidora para turuan ng acting ang mga lola at pati na sina Divina o Yaya Dub at Alden.
Balikan ang masayang eksena nang isalang niya ang AlDub at ang mga lola sa acting workshop na nauwi sa pagsisid ng kung anu-ano dahil sa teknik na breathing sa video na ito ng "Eat Bulaga":
