Nitong Lunes, nanumpa si Soriano kay Marcos sa Palasyo. Kasama niya ang kaniyang kabiyak na si Toni Gonzaga, at kanilang anak.
Sa inilabas na pahayag, sinabi ni Marcos na pumayag si Soriano na tatanggap lang ng P1 bawat taon bilang sahod sa naturang puwesto.
"One of the greatest assets of the Filipino is our creativity, and we must find many ways to highlight that to the rest of the world. And that is what Paul Soriano has already been doing in his career as a filmmaker. And now we have asked him to help us at one peso per year," ayon kay Marcos.
Si Soriano ang nasa likod ng campaign advertisements ni Marcos sa nagdaang presidential elections.
Nagpasalamat ang direktor sa ginawang paghirang sa kaniya bilang presidential adviser.
"It's an absolute honor to be able to serve, first and foremost, of course, for the country and then, of course, for the PBBM administration," ani Soriano.
"It's a passion of mine to just create and communicate. It's an absolute honor that the President has trusted me with this position," dagdag niya.
Ayon sa Office of the Press Secretary, kabilang sa tungkulin ni Soriano ang magbigay ng payo kay Marcos at tulungan ang mga opisyal sa iba't ibang kagawaran at ahensiya, pati na sa government-owned and controlled corporations, patungkol sa pagpapabuti ng information dissemination sa kanilang mga programa.— FRJ, GMA News
