Sa ulat ni Nico Waje sa 24 Oras Weekend nitong Sabado, mapanonood sa isang video ang paglamon ng apoy sa power station pasado 9 p.m. ng Biyernes.
Batay sa spot report ng Pagbilao Police, nasunog ang tripper house at coal dust facility ng power station. Naitala rin ang mga pagsabog.
"We are deeply saddened that the incident resulted in one fatality and nine personnel sustaining injuries. At this time, our priority is to care for those who are hurt and ensure they receive appropriate medical treatment, and to support their families during this difficult time," saad ng Pagbilao Energy Corporation sa isang pahayag.
“We are conducting a full assessment of the site to determine the extent of the damage and the circumstances that led to this regrettable incident. The affected area has been secured while authorities and technical teams complete their inspections,” dagdag pa nito.
“PEC is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities in respect of this matter, and is extending the necessary assistance to affected personnel and their families,” ayon pa sa PEC.
Samantala, tumanggi pang magbigay ng pahayag ang Bureau of Fire Protection ng BFP Pagbilao at ang Pagbilao Police hinggil sa insidente.
