Inalmahan ng defense team ng dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang listahang inilabas ng International Criminal Court (ICC) ng mga umano’y “co-perpetrator” nito sa kaniyang mga krimen laban sa sangkatauhan, at sinabing ito ay "completely lacking in truth."

Sa isang mensahe sa GMA Integrated News, sinabi ni Atty. Nicholas Kaufman, lead defense counsel ni Duterte, na ang dating pangulo at ang kaniyang pangkat ay “have known the identities of the alleged co-perpetrators for almost a year.”

"And as required by the Court, [we] have guarded them in absolute confidentiality. This puts to lie the utter falsity of the claim that the former president's interim release would endanger the integrity of the Prosecution's investigation," sabi ni Kaufman.

Nitong Biyernes, inilabas ng ICC ang mas kaunting redacted na bersiyon ng Document Containing the Charges (DCC) na isinumite ng Prosecution, na naglalaman ng mga pangalan ng walong kasabwat umano, kabilang ang mga kasalukuyang senador na sina Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa at Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go.

Kasama rin sa listahan ang mga dating opisyal ng pulisya na sina Vicente Danao, Camilo Cascolan, Oscar Albayalde, Isidro Lapeña, dating direktor ng NBI na si Dante Gierran, dating Justice Secretary na si Vitaliano Aguirre II, at iba pang miyembro ng PNP at matataas na opisyal.

Sinabi ni Kaufman na nakipagpulong siya sa prosekusyon, kung saan sinabi niya na ang dokumentong naglalaman ng mga kaso ay kailangang hindi gaanong i-redact para sa mga partido na makalikha ng "meaningful submissions at confirmation for the benefit of the public."

"Accordingly, the Prosecution has now revealed the names of what it alleges to be criminal co-perpetrators—something that we will prove to be completely lacking in truth. None of these co-perpetrators are, in my opinion, currently subject to arrest warrants," sabi ni Kaufman.

Tinawag niya rin ang reporting ng listahan bilang "sensational" at "politically motivated."

"It flies in the face of prosecutorial logic to seek further warrants in the Philippines situation before the decision of the Appeals Chamber on the former President's jurisdictional challenge. The sensational reporting of this list, however, is clearly politically motivated and designed to decimate the Senate in the hope of perverting the democratic will of the Filipino people," sabi ni Kaufman.

Hiningian na ng komento ng GMA Integrated News ang ICC hinggil sa paglalabas ng mga pangalan.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Go na kamakailan lamang niya nalaman ang mga paratang na binanggit sa DCC. 

"I dispute these allegations which are entirely unfounded, one-sided, unfair and bear no relation to the reality of my roles and responsibilities during my service as Special Assistant to the President from June 2016 to October 2018 as well as Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Davao City from 1998 to 2016," sabi ni Go.

"Let me be clear, at no time did I have any involvement in, knowledge of, or authority over these allegations," dagdag ng senador.
