Inihayag ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) nitong Biyernes na maglalabas sila ng show-cause order laban sa driver ng transport network vehicle service (TNVS) na nag-post ng malaswa umanong komento online tungkol sa aktres na si Xyriel Manabat.

“Bukod po sa pagsuspinde ng TNC (Transport Network Company), ang LTFRB ay maglalabas ng show-cause order po dito sa driver na ‘to,” ayon kay LTFRB board member Greg Pua sa isang briefing.

“Na-identify na po natin kung sino ‘yung driver, sino ‘yung operator. Within the day, we will issue the necessary show-cause order,” dagdag niya.

Nag-ugat ang kontrobersiya sa pagkalat online ng post ni “Boss Toyo Mansi” ng larawan nila ni Manabat, na may kasamang mga komentong nagse-sexualize umano sa aktres. Wala na ang naturang account, ngunit kumakalat pa rin online ang mga screenshot nito.

Nangako si Manabat na gagawa siya ng aksyon laban sa TNVS driver, at iginiit na hindi dapat balewalain ang naturang post bilang simpleng biro o maliit na bagay. Idinagdag niya hindi iyon dapat na maranasan ng mga kababaihan sa araw-araw.

“Now that I’m seeing this, I’m sure na (that) I’ll do something about it. Hindi dapat nagiging entertainment ‘yan (It should not be made entertainment) in any form. And at the same time, I hope the platform or the app should do something about this because it’s not petty.”

For its part, Grab Philippines said the driver-partner involved has been placed under preventive suspension pending results of an ongoing investigation, and that have issued a formal apology to Manabat for the incident which they described as “unacceptable.”

Sa panig ng Grab Philippines, sinabi nitong isinailalim na sa preventive suspension ang driver-partner na sangkot sa insidente habang hinihintay ang resulta ng imbestigasyon. Naglabas na rin sila ng pormal na paghingi ng paumanhin kay Manabat para sa insidente na kanilang inilarawan bilang “hindi katanggap-tanggap.”

“What was reported is deeply concerning and does not reflect the standards we uphold on the platform,” ayon sa Grab Phl.

"We are already in direct contact with Ms. Manabat, have offered our full support and ensured her concerns were heard. We are also prepared to cooperate fully with relevant authorities," dagdag nito.— Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas GMA News
